Sedum vegetation layer

A pre‑grown sedum blanket forms the visible sedum roof surface. Sedum is well suited to extensive roofs due to its low maintenance requirements, tolerance of drought and ability to establish quickly. No additional plants are required.

Growing media layer

The Urbanscape Green Roll provides a lightweight growing medium that supports root development while contributing to water retention. It helps maintain consistent moisture availability for the sedum layer without adding unnecessary load.

Drainage and water retention layer

The Urbanscape Drainmat PVT manages excess water while storing a proportion for reuse by the plants. This balance helps reduce runoff during rainfall while supporting healthy plant growth in drier periods.

Protection and filtration layer

A geotextile layer sits above the waterproofing to protect the roof surface and prevent fine particles from clogging the drainage layer. This supports long term system performance.

System accessories

The kit also includes supporting components such as sedum conditioner and fixing accessories supplied by Knauf Urbanscape to ensure compatibility across the system.
